These workshops are designed for participants to understand and explore the basic principles of nutrition as it relates to calories, portion sizes, food choices and strategies to eating healthier.

These sessions will also educate participants about how they can prevent obesity as well as other chronic diseases through good nutrition and physical activity.

Workshops include:

Approaches and skills to use for healthy weight loss.

How to achieve nutrition and health goals.

Eating to prevent disease (Blood Pressure, Diabetes, Heart Disease, etc.)


Our food label workshop focuses on increasing understanding of how to read the food label and use it to make healthier food choices.

  • Participants are introduced to the Food Label Card Game, which is designed to teach individuals how to select the healthiest foods based on the percentage of total fat per serving, calories, sodium, and cholesterol.
